Online bookings for restaurants: tables, shifts and a waiting list

A restaurant does not book hours, it books tables. How to set up shifts, capacity and a waiting list without phone calls.

Online bookings for restaurants: tables, shifts and a waiting list

Booking at a restaurant is different from booking an appointment: it matters how many guests there are, which table fits and how long they take it. A system made for consultations will not do.

Lunch and dinner shifts

With shifts, the web offers only the times of each service and each booking holds the table for the length of the shift. No bookings overlap and no tables sit empty because of odd gaps.

Tables with capacity, and zones

Each table has its capacity and you can group them by zones (dining room, terrace, bar). The agenda assigns the table that fits best: a table for four is used for two people only if there is no other.

Private rooms and joined tables

A private room can ask for a minimum number of guests, and neighbouring tables can be joined for a big group, as long as they touch on the plan.

Waiting list

When something is cancelled, the waiting list tells whoever was waiting. The slot is not lost and you do not have to call.

Orders from the table

With a QR on the table, guests can order from the published menu; sold-out dishes are marked without touching the web.

If you want to see how your tables and shifts would look, ask for an Axon demo.
